Body Weight

Rabbit breeds range from a mature body weight of 2 pounds to 15 pounds.  With this large difference of mature weights, you can narrow down which breed it is based on size.

4 Class

4 Class refers to smaller sized breeds.  A breed is referred to being a 4 class breed because the breeds shows in 4 classes: 

Senior Buck, Senior Doe, 

Junior Buck, Junior Doe.  

Rabbits are shown as seniors above 6 months of age.  

Juniors are under 6 months.

6 class

4 Class

4 Class

6 Class refers to larger sized breeds.  These breeds have 6 classes.  The classes are Senior Buck, Senior Doe Above 8 months old

6/8 Buck, 6/8 Doe    Between 6 and 8 months

Junior Buck, Junior Doe   Under 6 months of age


6 class breeds have an intermediate class because as a result of their large size they take longer to develop.
